Update - Earthquake northeast of Dominica

On Wednesday, November 18th at 8:49a.m. local time an earthquake occurred northeast  of Dominica. The event was located at 15.66°N 61.29°W. The magnitude was 3.6 and the depth was 12 km. The event was reported as felt in Portsmouth, Dominica.
 
This earthquake is related to the earthquake sequence which has been impacting northern Dominica since March 2009.  The  18th November earthquake is the largest of the series so far. It was strongly felt in northern Dominica with reports suggesting a Modified Mercalli intensity of IV.   The last earthquake in this sequence was recorded on November 14th. No damage was reported. Please note that these results are preliminary and may vary slightly when additional data is processed.
